Launch - Fridays from 7-8:30pm. All children grades 3-6 are welcome to come!

Youth - This Friday the Youth are going cross country skiing in Pippy Park. Drop off at 6:45 at the Pippy Park Lodge and pick up at Paul and Linda’s house at 9:30pm

English Club happens on Monday nights at 6:45pm. Anyone wanting to practice English conversation is welcome! Are you interested in helping with the English Club? Please speak to Sheila McKelvie for more information.

Kingdom Classes - Maynard King will be continuing to explore the book of Acts, and Pastor Andrew is beginning a new class studying Genesis 1-11. There will also be a class for children in the library area. 

Prayer Nights - Tuesdays evenings at 7pm in the Brian Coldwell Room.

Considering baptism? -  If you are interested in being baptized or learning more about it, please contact Pastor Andrew. 

Small Groups - Looking to grow as a disciple of Jesus in community? Consider joining a small group. Please contact the church office to learn how to connect!

Community Service Team - Have a passion and desire to see our church demonstrate the love of Jesus in our city? We are forming a small team of people to discern and implement creative and practical ways our church can serve and love our neighbours. Contact Pastor Andrew if God has given you a burden for this kind of ministry. 

MUN Christian Fellowship (MUNCF) - this week will not be having a Bible study on Friday. However, folks are invited to Josh Mack’s for supper and games on Saturday (Feb 28) - please RSVP to muncf.mail@gmail.com. The Sunday Bible study this week (Mar 1) will meet at Russell & Cara’s place at 4:30-6:30pm, as usual. Men’s Breakfast - Saturday February 28th at 9:00am in the Brian Coldwell Room. All men are invited. Maynard King will be bringing the devotional.

Child and Youth Safety Training - Sunday March 8th  after the morning service. Contact Paul or Linda House for more information. Lunch will be provided. 

Ladies Night Out - Note Date change to Wednesday March 11th 7-9pm. Accessory Swap. Bring something old to you and pick something new. Please bring finger foods to share.

Church Lunch - Sunday March 22nd immediately after the worship service. Please bring something to share.

Spiritual Direction - Are you interested in deepening your relationship with God? Friendship with God is both a sweet comfort, and a step into mystery. If you'd like some help learning to recognize and respond to the Spirit’s voice in your life, Spiritual Direction might be for you. One on one sessions offered online or in person. Contact Mary-Anne Stevens for more information.

Counselling opportunity - This fall and winter Timothy Heath, a member of our congregation, as well as Bethany Laing (another Christian), are doing their counselling internship through A Holding Place. Hello from Gander!

It has been another eventful week! I am always reminded that in the chaos God is still in one who holds it all in His hands.

Here are the events coming up:

Saturday, February 28 at 2 pm we will be hosting the Celebration of Life service for our dear friend and brother Fred Dixon who passed away this week. Please lift the family in prayer these coming days and weeks and for our church as we remember and honor him. 

Sunday, March 1 at 10:30 am is our Worship Service. Dave will be bringing the message, and it is also Communion Sunday. Feel free to check us out on Facebook. Search Crossing Church Gander. We are also on Instagram and YouTube!

Tuesday, March 3 at 7 pm we have the Conversation Cafe. We are studying the Books of 1, 2 and 3 John over the next few months. Come along! New people welcome!

Also, just a reminder that I am on vacation from Feb 27-March 8. However, there are people stepping up to continue our ministries and they are willing and able to be present while I’m off.

At the St. John’s site this week: This coming Sunday, March 1st, Pastor Andrew will be continuing the series on the Sermon on the Mount. This Sunday we will consider the next line in the Lord’s Prayer - Your Kingdom come; Your will be done…The title of the message is: Heaven on Earth. We will also be sharing in communion this Sunday as well.
