Launch - Fridays from 7-8:30pm. All children grades 3-6 are welcome to come!

 

Youth - Fridays from 7-9pm. All youth grades 7-12 are welcome to come!

 

Supper Bowl - We have another opportunity to serve at Supper Bowl this coming Saturday, January 17th. We will meet in the church parking lot at 3:45pm, then travel down to Cornerstone Ministry Centre together. It’s always a blessing to share the love of Jesus with people in our city through Supper Bowl!  

 

English Club will resume on Monday January 19th.

 

Kingdom ClassesMaynard King will be continuing to explore the book of Acts, and Pastor Andrew is beginning a new class studying Genesis 1-11. There will also be a class for children in the library area. 

 

Prayer Nights - Tuesdays evenings at 7pm in the Brian Coldwell Room.

 

Considering baptism? -  If you are interested in being baptized or learning more about it, please contact Pastor Andrew. 

 

Small Groups - Looking to grow as a disciple of Jesus in community? Consider joining a small group. Please contact the church office to learn how to connect!

 

MUN Christian Fellowship (MUNCF) - this week will be having a Bible study on Friday, Jan 16, from 7-9pm at the MUNSU Council Chambers (2nd floor, University Centre). After the study this Friday, folks are invited to come to Russell and Cara’s place to enjoy fresh waffles with lots of fixings! The Sunday study this week (Jan 18) will also meet at Russell & Cara’s place at 4:30-6:30pm. Also, the MUNCF Winter Retreat is Feb 6-8 - please see registration form on our Linktree: https://linktr.ee/mun_christian_fellowship . Grade 12’s and young adults are welcome! If anyone is able to provide cookies for the retreat, please connect with Tim Heath (theath@ivcf.ca) or Alley MacDonald at church ahead of time. Quirky Quilters and Fibre Arts will be meeting in the Brian Coldwell Room on Saturday January 17th from 9:30 - 3:00pm. Please contact Donna Nolan for more information on Quirky Quilters or Caroline Broughton-Janes for more information on Fibre Arts.

 

Church Potluck - Sunday January 18th, after the morning service. Please bring something to share.

 

Maplewood Service - Sunday January 18th 3 - 4 pm. Could we all keep the residents in our prayers that God will be there Shepard and comfort in the New Year. That God would speak into their heart and spirit to come and join this time of fellowship with us.

 

Men’s Breakfast - Saturday January 31st at 9:00am in the Brian Coldwell Room. All men are invited. Quentin Currie will be bringing the devotional.

 

Spiritual Direction - Are you interested in deepening your relationship with God? Friendship with God is both a sweet comfort, and a step into mystery. If you'd like some help learning to recognize and respond to the Spirit’s voice in your life, Spiritual Direction might be for you. One on one sessions offered online or in person. Counselling opportunity - This fall and winter Timothy Heath, a member of our congregation, as well as Bethany Laing (another Christian), are doing their counselling internship through A Holding Place. Hello from Gander!

 

We are back to our regular programs so here are the dates and times to keep in mind:

 

Sunday, January 18 at 10:30 am is our regular Worship Service. We did record and share last week’s service so if you missed it feel free to check it out on Facebook. Search Crossing Church Gander. We are also on Instagram and YouTube!

 

Monday, January 19 at 9 am we will have our Prayer Time. If you are unable to attend, please remember to pray for multiple people from our congregation who are experiencing illness at this time.

 

Tuesday, January 20 at 7 pm we are back to Conversation Cafe. We look forward to getting back together for a time of study and we hope others who haven’t come out yet will join us too. We will be studying the Books of 1, 2 and 3 John over the next few months.

At the St. John’s site this week: This coming Sunday, January 19th, we will be resuming our series unpacking the Sermon on the Mount. We will be diving into Matthew 5: 43-48. The title of the message is: Love Your Enemies.
