Mark Your Calendars!
We Three Spies is coming to our morning service on December 21st. Our children and youth will be bringing another spectacular Christmas Musical to us this year. Kids from grade 1 through high school are invited to join this musical celebration! Kid’s will practice during Kid’s Church, while the high school students will rehearse for one hour following Sunday services in the Brian Coldwell room.
Launch is happening on Friday Nights from 7 - 8:30pm for students in Grades 3 - 6. Please contact the office for more details: office@thecrossingchurch.ca.
Youth Group is happening on Friday nights from 7 - 9pm for students in Grades 7 - 12. Please contact the office for more details: office@thecrossingchurch.ca.
English Club happens on Monday nights at 6:45pm. Anyone wanting to practice English conversation is welcome. Are you interested in helping with the English Club? Please speak to Sheila McKelvie for more information.
Kingdom Classes - Sunday Mornings at 9am. Maynard King is leading a class on the book of Acts. Pastor Andrew will be leading a class through The Practicing the Way course. This course includes teaching, guided conversation, and spiritual exercises designed to lay a foundation for lifelong apprenticeship to Jesus.
Prayer Night - We will be gathering for prayer every Tuesday evening from 7-8pm in the Brian Coldwell Room.
Considering baptism? - If you are interested in being baptized or learning more about it, please contact Pastor Andrew.
Small Groups - Looking to grow as a disciple of Jesus in community? Consider joining a small group. Please contact the church office to learn how to connect!
Inclusive Fun is cancelled for tonight November 19th. It will resume again next week.
Upcoming Events
There’s a lot happening, make sure you read to the end!
Supper Bowl - This coming Saturday, November 22nd, we have the opportunity to serve supper for those in need in our city at Cornerstone Ministry Centre. We will plan to meet at the church building at 3:45pm before travelling to Cornerstone.
Fall Congregational Meeting - Please plan to attend our fall congregation meeting to be held at both the St John’s and Gander Sites on Wednesday November 26th at 7pm.
Men’s Breakfast - Saturday November 29th at 9am. Don Stevens will be bringing the devotional.
Blue Christmas Service - On December 7th @ 7pm we will be holding a Blue Christmas Service for all of those who find the Christmas season difficult. This service offers a gentle and safe space for those who are mourning the loss of a loved one, navigating illness or carrying stress to acknowledge their sorrows while turning our hearts toward the deep hope Jesus brings. This service allows you to come just as you are. No pretending . No pressure. Just a sacred space to be honest before God through Scripture, reflective worship, and moments of stillness. If this season feels heavy, you’re not alone. Come, rest, breathe, and let the God who sees you speak comfort and peace over your heart.
International Christmas Dinner - Sunday, December 14th at 6pm.
MUN Christian Fellowship (MUNCF) MUN Christian Fellowship (MUNCF) this week will have a Bible study on Friday (Nov 21st), 7-9pm at the Loft at MUN. The Sunday Bible study (Nov 23rd) will be 4:30-6:30pm at Russell & Cara Dawe’s. We are also excited to invite MUNCF alumni and students to a Christmas Formal Dinner fundraiser on December 6th ($30/ticket). Spiritual Direction - Are you interested in deepening your relationship with God? Friendship with God is both a sweet comfort, and a step into mystery. Counselling opportunity - This fall and winter Timothy Heath, a member of our congregation, as well as Bethany Laing (another Christian), are doing their counselling internship through A Holding Place. Hello from Gander!
I’m excited to get ready for Christmas! Little secret about me…I LOVE Christmas. So, you will see a number of upcoming events as well as our programs for next week here:
Today at 10 am is Coffee break time. Come share a friendly chat and catch up with someone and feel free to invite someone to come along!
On Sunday, November 23 we are looking forward to our Worship service at 10:30 am. It will be the last sermon from our series Lessons from the Letters before we start Advent season

Also, just a reminder that you can catch past worship services online through Facebook, Instagram or YouTube by searching Crossing Church Gander. You also may have noticed a lot more Facebook posts to encourage you with Scripture passages during the week. Special thanks to Melissa for that!
On Monday, November 24 at 9 am there is Prayer time.
Then on Tuesday, November 25 at 7 pm there is Conversation Cafe. It will be the last session from the Book of Jonah. There will be another study after Christmas.
Also, be sure to attend the Congregational Meeting on November 26 at 7 pm at the Gander site as well. The Chair, Brad, has sent out the agenda for the meeting. Please let me know if you haven’t received it.

November 27 - Church Decoration night
November 30 - 1st Sunday of Advent. Also, we will have a Sharing Meal after the service
December 2 - Christmas Cafe night 7pm
December 9 - Ecumenical Christmas Service at Fraser Road United Church at 7 pm
There are also a couple of other events being planned so keep watching for additions to the calendar.
In addition, we are assisting with the Salvation Army this year with both the Kettle Campaign and their gift distribution. Please let me know if you can volunteer and I will help with the scheduling.
